Terms of Service

Last updated: February 4, 2025

Welcome to Logbook

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Logbook, a personal journaling app for iOS operated by Logbook ("we," "our," or "us"). By creating an account or using Logbook, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Logbook. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. If you're under 18, you should review these Terms with a parent or guardian.

Your Account

To use Logbook, you'll need to create an account with a valid email address. You're responsible for:

  • Keeping your login credentials secure
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Notifying us if you suspect unauthorized access

Don't share your account with others or create multiple accounts.

Subscription Plans

Logbook offers two tiers:

Free

  • Up to 60 journal entries
  • Access to entries from the last 30 days

Premium — $4.99/month

  • Unlimited journal entries
  • Full access to your entire history

Billing & Payments

All subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store. By subscribing to Premium, you agree to Apple's terms and payment policies.

  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings
  • Refunds are handled by Apple according to their refund policy
  • Prices may change with notice; changes won't affect your current billing period

Your Content

You own your content. All journal entries, images, and other content you create in Logbook belong to you. We don't claim any ownership over your personal content.

By using Logbook, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely to provide the service to you. This license ends when you delete your content or account.

Acceptable Use

Logbook is designed for personal journaling. While your entries are private, you agree not to use the service to:

  • Store or distribute illegal content
  • Upload malware or malicious code
  • Harass, threaten, or harm others
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
  • Reverse engineer or exploit the app
  • Use the service for commercial purposes without permission

Account Termination

You can delete your account at any time through the app settings. When you delete your account, all your data will be permanently removed.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in abusive behavior. We'll try to provide notice when possible, but may act immediately if required to protect the service or other users.

Service Availability

We strive to keep Logbook running smoothly, but we can't guarantee 100% uptime. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to:

  • Scheduled maintenance
  • Technical issues or outages
  • Circumstances beyond our control

We'll do our best to notify you of planned maintenance and resolve issues quickly.

Limitation of Liability

Logbook is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • We are not responsible for data loss, though we take reasonable measures to prevent it
  • Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim

We recommend keeping backups of important content. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain liability limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the service.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make significant changes, we'll notify you through the app or via email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continuing to use Logbook after changes go into effect means you accept the new Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of San Francisco, California.
